Graphic Design: Tooken Percussion

These designs were made for the Tooken Percussion Encounter – Ushuaia 2015. For this event we created a logo in which aspects related to the meaning and characteristics of the denomination were taken into account. The word “Tooken” comes from the Selknam language (native people of the province of Tierra del Fuego). That is why we searched for a rustic image with marks of painting like the ones they used on their bodies. The earth tones also connect with percussion, its origins and the patches that are used in varied musical instruments.

Different graphic elements were also created keeping these original characteristics, such as the stamp, the stamping of the distinctive t-shirt worn by the organizational team; posters, brochures and programs that were used as means of diffusion and informative material before and during the event and finally, headers, buttons and other elements that were used on the website and social networks.

Gimp, Inkscape and Krita, all of them free software, were used to design and edit these works.
